Newcastle United eye January move for Moussa Dembele?

Newcastle United have reportedly placed emphasis on signing Lyon forward Moussa Dembele in the upcoming transfer market.

The Frenchman spent last season away on loan at Atletico Madrid, and the La Liga champions did have an option to make a permanent deal in the summer for £30m, but it never happened.

Since returning to France, the 25-year-old striker has scored four goals in 10 top flight appearances, while he also made two appearances in the Europa League.

The Daily Mail reports that Newcastle United are now considering making an offer for the frontman when the winter transfer window opens next month.

Newcastle head coach Eddie Howe is hoping to bolster his squad in the mid-season as the Magpies look to fight relegation as they currently sit 19th in the league table.

The Tyneside outfit have been linked with a number of strikers, including Anthony Martial and Eden Dzeko as they aim to add more depth to the team.
