Tottenham Hotspur slap £23m price tag on Serge Aurier

AC Milan will have to pay £23m if they want to sign Tottenham Hotspur defender Serge Aurier, according to the Daily Mail.

The Ivory international joined Spurs from Paris Saint-Germain in 2017 and has since gone on to make 83 appearances for the north Londoners across all competitions, including 42 in the 2019-20 campaign.

However, the right-back has just under two years left to run on his contract at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, and the player’s future remains uncertain prior to the 2020-21 season.

Jose Mourinho’s side are keen to recoup the full £23million they shelled out for the Ivorian three years ago.

The report adds that Milan are trying to negotiate a lower offer of £12m for the 27-year-old defender, but Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is not prepared to settle for less despite the financial concerns arising from the coronavirus pandemic.

Aurier has established himself as the first-choice right back at the Lilywhites, found the back of the net on two occasions and creating eight assists in the most recent campaign.
