Man United interested in James Maddison

Manchester United have reportedly placed emphasis on signing James Maddison from Leicester City ahead of 2023-24 season.

The Red Devils are prioritising the acquisition of the England international for the upcoming season.

As per Football Transfer, Man United are considering making a move for the the 26-year-old midfielder as part of Erik ten Hag’s plan to bolster the squad in specific areas.

While the signings of Casemiro and Christian Eriksen have had a positive impact, the 20-time English champions have struggled in matches where these players were absent. Therefore, the manager believes that additional players need to be brought in.

Despite their previous efforts, the Old Trafford outfit have been unsuccessful in securing a deal for Maddison. However, they are expected to make another attempt during the summer transfer window.

Maddison’s current contract with the Foxes is set to expire in 2024 and there have been no indications of a potential extension. Given the possibility of losing him for free in a year’s time, the East Midlands may be open to selling him for a reasonable fee.

Maddison has scored 14 goals in 19 appearances for Leicester City so far this season.
