Liverpool keen to sign 33-year-old stopper

Liverpool have reportedly set their sights on a deal for Hannover goalkeeper Ron-Robert Zieler.

The former Germany international has already represented the Premier League duo Manchester United and Leicester City in the past, and now a move to the Merseyside outfit could be on the cards.

Currently, the veteran stopper is the number one choice for the 2.Bundesliga club and has made 15 appearances in the league this season.

According to German outlet BILD, the Reds are considering a move for the 33-year-old to bolster their goalkeeper reserves.

The report adds that Zieler seems to be an appealing choice due to his development as a youth player for Manchester United.

Liverpool are in the market for a backup stopper with their third choice Adrian out of contract at the end of the campaign.
