Chelsea step up interest in Leandro Trossard?

Chelsea reportedly remain undeterred in their efforts to sign Brighton & Hove Albion playmaker Leandro Trossard during the January transfer window.

The Belgium international has significantly enhanced his reputation during 2022-23. He has scored seven goals in 12 Premier League appearances, his latest goal coming against Chelsea on Saturday.

Although, the 27-year-old is arguably the Seagulls’ key player, whose current contract is due to expire in the summer.

According to journalist, at least one player may be targeted by Chelsea in the upcoming transfer windows, with Trossard seemingly representing a more straightforward option in the mid-season transfer market.

Trossard has scored 25 goals and registered 13 assists in 116 appearances across all competitions since his move from Genk in June 2019.
