Man Utd weighing up late Jamie Vardy move

Manchester United have reportedly identified Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy as a potential right-back target in the latter stages of the summer transfer window.

The 35-year-old has scored 164 goals and registered 64 assists from 387 appearances for the Foxes in all competitions since his move from Fleetwood Town in 2012.

The Englishman has managed to score 133 goals and 46 assists in 272 Premier League appearances.

He is yet to score in the 2022-23 campaign, but the centre-forward did provide an assist during the club’s 2-2 draw with Brentford on the opening weekend of the season.

Vardy has entered the final year of his contract at King Power Stadium, leading to speculation surrounding his future.

According to The Athletic, the Red Devils are considering moving for the frontman before the end of the summer transfer window, as manager Erik ten Hag looks to improve the attack before the end of the transfer window.

The 20-time English champions have also been linked with Atletico Madrid’s Alvaro Morata and PSG’s Mauro Icardi.
