Chelsea step up John Stones pursuit

Chelsea have reportedly accelerated their pursuit of John Stones as they attempt to secure his signature in this summer’s transfer window, according to The Daily Mirror.

The Blues will continue to push for a deal to sign Manchester City centre-back John Stones this summer – even if they sign Lewis Dunk from Brighton.

Chelsea are remain keen on a deal to bring Stones to Stamford Bridge as Frank Lampard looks to revamp his defensive options ahead of the new campaign.

The report adds that Chelsea may be able to secure a “cut-price” deal for the England international this summer after he fell out of favour at Etihad Stadium – but City may also considering of loaning him out as well.

Stones, 26, has fallen out of favour at City and he only made 12 Premier League starts last season.
