Tottenham Hotspur lining up move for 19-year-old defender

Tottenham Hotspur are weighing up a summer move for Middlesbrough prospect Djed Spence.

At a time when Spurs boss Jose Mourinho is assessing the full-back situation at the north London outfit, Spence has been creating an impact at the Championship outfit.

The 19-year-old defender has made 22 appearances for the Boro this season, two of which came against Tottenham in the FA Cup.

Although the Lilywhites have relented when it has come to making an offer in the past, ESPN suggests that an official approach is likely to be made during the summer.

The report adds that Tottenham will not be put off if Boro ask £10m for the right-back.

With just two years left to run on his contract, the Premier League giants will hope to negotiate a lower fee due to the financial concerns arising from the coronavirus pandemic.
