Man United still keen on Jerome Boateng

The Premier League giants Manchester United are reportedly still interested in signing Bayern Munich centre-back Jerome Boateng, according to the German publication Bild.

The Germany international was one of a number of defenders linked with a move to the Old Trafford outfit during the summer as the Red Devils looked to strengthen their defensive options without success.

United boss Jose Mourinho has made signing a new central defender the club’s number one priority when the mid-season transfer window opens in January.

The aforementioned reports that Boateng is still one of the defenders on United’s list of primary targets and that their chances of securing him have increased due to the Bavarian’s poor start to the season.

The 30-year-old could be one of the players to make way to the Premier League should Manchester United return with another bid in January.
