Fiorentina have allegedly earmarked Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira as their top summer transfer targets.

The Uruguayan international found himself surplus to requirements at the Emirates Stadium since the arrival of Gunners boss Mikel Arteta.

According to Corriere Dello Sport, Fiorentina are keen to sign a new central midfielder and Torreira is one of three targets on their shortlist, along with Stefano Sensi and Ellyes Skhiri.

La Viola are yet to enter negotiations with the North Londoners, though they are expected to make a move in the coming days as Torreira is their leading target.

The 25-year-old, who joined the Gunners from Sampdoria in 2018 for a deal worth around £26m, has made 89 appearances for the club.

Torreira spent the 2020-21 season on loan with Atletico Madrid, making 19 league appearances.
