Chelsea want Tottenham target Mateo Kovacic from Real Madrid
The Premier League duo Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur are both lining up a swoop for Real Madrid midfielder Mateo Kovacic this summer, according to Sky Sport Italia, as quoted by talkSPORT.
The Blues and Spurs have both made an official approach to sign the Croatia international ahead of next season.
The report states that 24-year-old winger is considering a potential exit at Los Blancos this summer after failing to hold down a regular place at the Bernabeu.
The Spanish giants could be forced to sell Kovacic this summer, which has alerted Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur.
Kovacic has only managed to start 37 games since his move to the Madrid from Inter Milan in 2015.
He has won three successive Champions League titles and the 2016-17 La Liga during his tenure at the Bernabeu.
Kovacic has been impressive at the World Cup in Russia after helping his country to reach the quarter-finals following a penalty shootout win over Denmark in the knock out stage.
