Arsenal hopeful of signing Declan Rice?
Arsenal have reportedly accelerated their pursuit of Declan Rice as they attempt to secure his signature this summer.
The Gunners were interested in signing the England international in January, but West Ham were not willing to do business at that time. However, it is now likely that they will allow him to be sold in the summer, and Arsenal believes they have an advantage over Chelsea.
The 24-year-old midfielder has been admired by the Blues for a long time and was previously part of their youth academy for eight years. However, they are currently struggling in the Premier League and are in 11th place. Therefore, they may not be in a strong position to pursue the Englishman.
On the other hand, the Premier League leaders Arsenal likely to end their 19-year wait for the league title. They are also on track to return to the Champions League, whereas Chelsea may not be playing in Europe next season.
Arsenal are willing to pay up to £100 million to lure Rice away from West Ham United.
