Newcastle United have inquired about the possibility of signing Chelsea prodigy Conor Gallagher on loan.

According to Football London, the Magpies are one of the clubs showing interest in signing the 22-year-old on loan this month. The limited playing time at Chelsea may have given Eddie Howe’s side hope of acquiring the young midfielder.

Newcastle are hoping to sign him on loan this month until the end of the season. The Magpies vital objective is to finish in the top four. Hence, a loan deal could be the best course of action.

The loan deal is expected to include a purchase option, with the Blues reportedly seeking £40m for the England international who is believed to be willing to move due to limited playing opportunities at Stamford Bridge.

Newcastle United are not alone in their pursuit, Crystal Palace are reportedly intrigued by the idea of signing Gallagher on loan again.
