Man United identify Jan Oblak as David de Gea replacement

Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak has reportedly emerged as a transfer target for Manchester United.

Man United number one David de Gea’s situation has been the subject of speculation throughout the summer, as the stopper will see his contract at Old Trafford expire at the end of this season.

The Red Devils are considering activating a 12-month extension on De Gea’s deal, which would take him to the summer of 2024.

According to Jeunes Footeux, Manchester United have identified Oblak as the ideal signing next summer, with the Slovenia international viewed as a replacement for De Gea.

The report adds that Ten Hag’s side would be willing to double Oblak’s salary to €18m per season in order to tempt him to the club.

However, the Premier League giants would likely face competition from Paris Saint-Germain if Los Rojiblancos signalled that they would be prepared to let the 29-year-old stopper leave.

Oblak’s deal at Wanda Metropolitano is due to expire next June.
