Atletico Madrid are reportedly interested in signing Real Madrid winger Gareth Bale on a free transfer this summer, according to Fichajes.

The Wales international will leave the Spanish capital at the end of the season when his contract expires, which will bring an end to his nine-year spell at the Bernabeu.

The 32-year-old has been strongly linked with a move back to former club Tottenham Hotspur, while it has also been claimed that the Welshman could join Cardiff City as he looks to stay fit ahead of the World Cup campaign later this year.

Last week, it was reported that Atletico Madrid will face fierce competition from Barcelona for Bale’s signature, while the winger has also been linked with a move to MLS club DC United.

Bale has contributed 106 goals and 67 assists in 258 appearances for Real Madrid.
