Liverpool have reportedly joined the list of clubs wanting to sign Ousmane Dembele from Barcelona.

The Catalan giants want to extend Dembele’s contract at Camp Nou but the 24-year-old striker is looking for a pay rise despite the club’s financial struggles.

Barca were hoping to convince him to take a pay cut on his £200,000-a-week deal rather than a pay increase.

Liverpool are long-term admirers of the France international but the Merseyside giants are facing competition from the likes of Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur.

Newcastle United are another potential suitor that could compete for Dembele’s signature.

Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich are also monitoring Dembele’s situation at Camp Nou.

Dembele scored 30 goals from 118 games in all competitions for Barcelona since his move from Borussia Dortmund in 2017.
