Liverpool are reportedly keen to edge out Manchester United in the race to sign Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez.

The 26-year-old, who has played a starring role in Atleti’s La Liga title success in 2020-21, has once again been linked with a move to Old Trafford this summer.

The Spain international is supposedly looking for a fresh challenge away from the Wanda Metropolitano.

The Red Devils are considered the favourites to secure Niguez’s signature, though Empire of the Kop claims that Liverpool have also been credited with an interest.

Saul remains contracted to the Spanish champions until the summer of 2026, but Los Rojiblancos are believed to be ready to cash in for around £40m.
