Atletico Madrid are reportedly ready to lock horns with Liverpool over the signature of Udinese midfielder Rodrigo De Paul during this summer’s transfer window.

The 26-year-old has enjoyed an impressive 2020-21 campaign for the Italian outfit, contributing nine goals and 11 assists in 36 appearances in all competitions.

A recent report suggested that the Reds had made contact with De Paul’s agent to discuss the possibility of a move to Premier League in the upcoming market.

However, according to Calciomercato, Los Rojiblancos are also firmly in the race for the Argentine amid suggestions that he could be available for a fee somewhere in the region of €40m.

De Paul, who has a contract at Stadio Friuli until the summer of 2024, has scored nine goals and registered 10 assists in 34 Serie A outings this term.
