Manchester United are reportedly set to step up their interest in signing Watford winger Ismaila Sarr as an alternative to Jadon Sancho this summer.

The Red Devils are weighing up a move to sign the Senegal international as a cheaper alternative to Sancho.

The 20-time English champions have been heavily linked with a swoop for BVB duo Jadon Sancho and Erling Haaland over the past 12 months.

The report adds that United won’t be able to complete deals for both Haaland and Sancho given the valuation of the pair.

Although the Mancunian giants were heavily linked with a swoop to sign Sancho last summer, the report suggests that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side will make Haaland their top target in the upcoming transfer window.

The report goes on to claim that United could look to sign Sarr in the summer given the 23-year-old could be available for as little as £40m.

Manchester United have already established discussions with the Hornets after the two sides discussed a deal for the Senegalese last summer.

Sarr has scored nine goals and provided four assists in 33 matches in the Championship this season.
