Manchester United have reportedly entered pole position in the race to complete a deal for Fiorentina centre-back Nikola Milenkovic.

The 23-year-old defender has emerged as a rumoured target for the Red Devils.

The Serbia international is believed to have turned down the offer of a new contract, possibly forcing La Viola to sell one of their players before he enters the final full year of his contract.

Amid the growing interest in the centre-back, Gazzetta dello Sport claims that Manchester United are the clear frontrunners to sign him.

United are rumoured to have previously held discussions with the centre-back’s representatives and remain on talking terms.

Milenkovic is contracted to Fiorentina until 2022.
