Arsenal to beat Man United in race to sign the Portuguese forward

Arsenal are reportedly set to pip Manchester United to the signature of Andre Silva from Eintracht Frankfurt this summer, according to Italian media outlet Calciomercato, as quoted by The Sun.

The Gunners are prepared to rival the Red Devils for the signature of the Portugal international in the summer transfer window.

The 20-time English champions are looking at the 25-year-old as a potential alternative to Borussia Dortmund star Erling Haaland.

United could be forced into the transfer market to sign Haaland alternative if Edinson Cavani doesn’t extend his contract.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta believes Silva could be a replacement for Alexandre Lacazette ahead of the 2021-22 campaign.

The report goes on to claim that Frankfurt could be open to selling Silva in order to raise the funds to re-sign Luka Jovic from Real Madrid at the end of the campaign.

The German outfit would be willing to accept an offer somewhere in the region of £30m for Silva – who scored 36 goals in 60 matches in all competitions at Eintracht Frankfurt.
