Manchester United eye £53m Pedro Goncalves
Manchester United have reportedly “explored” the possibility of signing Sporting Lisbon midfielder Pedro Goncalves.
The 22-year-old has been impressive for the Portuguese giants who are currently leading the Primeira Liga table.
According to the Portuguese outlet Record via The Sun, United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is interested in Goncalves and would be open to adding him to his side in the summer.
The Portugal Under-21 international has a deal at Sporting until 2025 but has a release clause somewhere in the region of £53m, a fee which the Mancunian giants are reportedly willing to meet.
The 20-time English champions are understood to have made an approach for the playmaker last month although no deal was agreed.
Goncalves has scored 12 goals and provided two assists in 13 Primeira Liga appearances.
