Manchester City have reportedly placed emphasis on signing Inter Milan forward Romelu Lukaku in the summer transfer window.

City’s Sergio Aguero is expected to depart this summer, leaving the club in a position where they will require a high-profile target to replace their talisman.

According to The Athletic, Pep Guardiola’s side have identified Lukaku as the ideal replacement for the legendary Argentine.

Lukaku has scored 54 goals from 78 appearances for Inter since his move from Manchester United in 2019.

The report claims that the Belgian has a number of admirers, putting him at the top of the club’s shortlist for the summer.

Lukaku still has three-and-a-half years left to run on his Inter contract.
