Man United join race for Carlos Vinicius
Manchester United have emerged as rumoured suitors for Benfica striker Carlos Vinicius.
The Red Devils manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is said to have made signing a world-class striker one of his priorities in the summer transfer window, having failed to replace Romelu Lukaku since he left the Old Trafford last summer.
A number of strikers have been named as possible targets, and Portuguese outlet A Bola says that Benfica’s Carlos Vinicius is being considered as another option.
The 25-year-old forward has scored 15 times this season, while also registering seven assists in just 22 Primeira Liga appearances.
Man United’s domestic rivals Liverpool have also been credited with an interest in the Brazilian, though, while his release clause of €100m would be another major challenge in any pursuit.
Vinicius has a deal at Benfica until 2024.
