AC Milan have reportedly stepped up their interest in Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira.

The 24-year-old was linked with a return to Serie A last summer, but eventually remained at the Emirates where he has scored one goal and registered one assist in 24 Premier League appearances this season.

However, the former Sampdoria man has supposedly not ruled out a move back to Italy, and according to Corriere dello Sport, AC Milan remain keen on a deal for the Uruguay international.

The report adds that Arsenal’s asking price could prove to be a stumbling block for the San Siro outfit, with the Premier League giants supposedly set to demand €40m for the attacking midfielder.

Torreira racked up 74 appearances for Blucerchiati before joining the north Londoners in 2018, where he will see his contract expire at the end of the 2022-23 season.
