Napoli forward Dries Mertens is reportedly the subject of interest from the Premier League giants Chelsea.

With just six months left to run on his contract, the Belgium international is free to hold discussions with foreign clubs ahead of a move in the summer.

However, according to the Daily Mail, Chelsea are hoping to convince Partenopei into a sale before the end of the January transfer window.

Despite Mertens’ importance at the Italian outfit, the Blues are allegedly looking to sign the forward for just £6 million.

The 32-yer-old has scored nine times and provided three assists in 22 outings in Serie A top flight and the Champions League this season.
