Chelsea to battle Man United for Verona youngster Marash Kumbulla

Chelsea have reportedly placed emphasis on signing Hellas Verona defender Marash Kumbulla in the January transfer window, according to TuttoMercato as quoted by The Sun.

Following their transfer ban lifted, the Blues are in the market for new players and are monitoring the development of the 19-year-old Albanian, who has impressed this season.

The teenager has made 12 starts in Serie A’ top flight, helping Ivan Juric’s side into eighth place in the standings.

Although Verona are open to cashing in on the centre-back, club officials are also keen on parting ways with one of their key assets at the beginning of 2020.

Meanwhile, Manchester United and Juventus FC are also said to be monitoring the situation of Kumbulla ahead of potentially making a bid this month.
