Monaco to step up pursuit of Inter Milan forward Mauro Icardi?

Monaco have emerged as rumoured suitors for Inter Milan forward Mauro Icardi, according to Rai Sport.

Despite scoring 121 goals from 215 appearances in all competitions, the 26-year-old striker is out of contention at San Siro, with the Serie A outfit eager to sell the Argentine before the end of the summer window.

Juventus and Napoli are both said to be credited with an interest in the attacker as they look to bolster their forward line before the start of the new Serie A campaign.

However, the aforementioned report claims, Monaco have joined the race for Icardi, and are willing to spend somewhere in the region of £60m.

The report goes on to claim that the French club are prepared to hand the Argentine an appealing deal than he would receive if he stayed in Italy.
