The Ligue 1 outfit Lyon have announced the arrival of 23-year-old Danish centre-back Joachim Andersen from Sampdoria.

Andersen ends a two-year spell at the Serie A outfit who received €30million for his signature.

The defender initially swapped Dutch side FC Twente for I Blucerchiati, racked up 42 appearances.

Andersen’s sensational performances saw him subsequently linked with a number of European elite clubs, including Arsenal, who are keen to bolster their defensive options ahead of 2019-20 season.

Les Gones have spent more than €50m on the likes of Andersen, Youssouf Kone and Thiago Mendes to strengthen their squad for 2019-20 season.
