Tottenham Hotspur eye summer swoop for James Maddison

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly identified Leicester City youngster James Maddison as a potential summer signing, according to The Mirror.

Spurs are interested in a potential deal to sign the 22-year-old midfielder, who enjoyed a stellar debut season at the King Power Stadium, with seven goals and seven assists in 36 Premier League appearances.

The report adds that Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino will receive an inflated transfer budget if the north London outfit win the Champions League final on Saturday.

It is claimed that Leicester would want an offer more than £22.5m that the Foxes paid Norwich for the youngster last summer.

Maddison’s performances for the East Midlands earned a call-up to Gareth Southgate’s England squad during the top-flight campaign.

The England international started his professional career at Coventry City before he spent two seasons at Norwich City ahead of his big-money move to King Power Stadium.
