Man United open talks with Barca about Samuel Umtiti move

Manchester United have started discussions with Barcelona about potentially signing Samuel Umtiti this summer, according to Spanish media outlet Mundo Deportivo, as quoted by Metro.

The Red Devils have conceded defeat in the race to sign Leicester City centre-back Harry Maguire this summer and they have now switched their attention to Samuel Umtiti and have held initial discussions with the Spanish champions.

The report goes on to claim that the Catalan giants have also asked about United’s Victor Lindelof but the Red Devils are reluctant to sell.

Umtiti has joined Barcelona from Lyon in 2016 and has won the La Liga title and the Copa del Rey trophy twice.

The France international has featured in 14 games across all competitions last term and helped Les Bleus to win the World Cup 2018.
