Manchester City frontrunners to sign Joao Felix

Manchester City are leading the race for Benfica teenager Joao Felix as they look to strength their front line, according to TVI 24 as quoted by Goal.com.

The 19-year-old forward is believed to have a pick of clubs to choose from following an incredible campaign, with 26 goals in the Primeira Liga and Europa League.

Manchester United, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid are all rumoured to have made contact with the Portuguese giants over a summer transfer, but the aforementioned report claim that it is the Premier League champions Manchester City who lead the chase.

City manager Pep Guardiola is said to be a big fan of the Portugal international, although the Citizens may have to spend big to land their target.

Benfica are reportedly contemplating to further increase Felix’s release clause, which currently stands at £106m.

Felix has contributed 15 league goals and seven assists this season.
