Kieran Trippier on Man United wishlist – report?

Manchester United have reportedly “explored” the possibility of signing Tottenham Hotspur defender Kieran Trippier this summer, according to The Daily Mirror.

The Red Devils are interested in a potential swoop for the England international should a deal for Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Crystal Palace fail to come to fruition.

The report suggets that United are interested in Trippier, 28, as a potential alternative to Wan-Bissaka.

It is understood that United are facing tough competition from reigning Premier League champions Manchester City for the London-born Palace defender.

Manchester United are hopeful that Spurs may be open to the sale of Trippier in order to raise funds for Mauricio Pochettino this summer.

The report goes on to claim that Trippier would act as a replacement for Antonio Valencia ahead of the club captain’s departure this summer.

Trippier has scored once and has provided three assists in 26 Premier League appearances this season.
