Newcastle United keen on Lyon starlet Myziane Maolida

Newcastle United have emerged as rumoured suitors for Lyon starlet Myziane Maolida, according to L’Equipe.

The Toon are said to be locked in discussions with the Ligue 1 outfit for the signing of 19-year-old forward, who impressed suitors at the Euro-19s European Championships with France.

The report adds, Lyon are interested in selling Maolida, and the Magpies hope to get a transfer over the line before the summer transfer window shuts down.

The teenager, who just made 13 appearances in Ligue 1 last season, scoring one goal, Understandably wants more first-team action next year.

The Premier League outfit have so far signed in Yoshinori Muto, Fabian Schar, Ki Sung-yeung and Martin Dubravka this summer.

Newcastle United have also been linked with a move for Stanley N’Soki from Paris Saint-Germain.
