Liverpool to face Tottenham for Bundesliga defender
Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing Benjamin Pavard from the Bundesliga outfit Stuttgart in the summer transfer window, according to The Daily Star, as quoted by the Daily Mirror.
The Reds are keeping tabs to the 21-year-old defender despite interest from Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur.
The report adds that the Merseyside giants are said to be on the lookout for a long-term defensive partner for club record signing Virgil van Dijk.
Liverpool spent £75m on the Dutchman after the club made the Southampton skipper the most expensive defender in the world in January.
Stuttgart are reluctant to sell Pavard, who is believed to be attracting interest from Tottenham Hotspur.
The Frenchman has scored once in 26 appearances in the German football this term to establish himself as a key player under Stuttgart.
Pavard joined Stuttgart from Ligue 1 outfit Lille in 2016 and put pen to paper on a four-year contract.
