Man United, Arsenal identify Barcelona winger as key transfer target

The Premier League duo Manchester United and Arsenal have reportedly “explored” the possibility of signing Jose Arnaiz from Barcelona.

The 22-year-old midfielder, who scored on his debut as the Catalans claimed a 3-0 win in their Copa del Rey round-of-32 fixture at Real Murcia earlier this week.

The Spaniard has been at Camp Nou since August following a transfer move from the second-tier La Liga outfit Real Valladolid but, according to Mundo Deportivo as quoted by Daily Mail, Manchester United and Arsenal are both closely monitoring the rise of Barca starlet.

The report adds that Arnaiz’s agent has been contacted by the two English sides, who claim that his style would be suited to playing in Premier League.

The Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich are also reportedly interested in Arnaiz’s services as a potential long-term replacement for Franck Ribery.
