Chris Gayle joins elite club of 10,000 ODI runs

West Indies batsman Chris Gayle has joined the elite club of players with 10000 runs in one-day international cricket after the big-hitting opener smashed an impressive 162 against England on Wednesday.

The 39-year-old has become the 2nd Windies batsman after Brian Lara to reach 10,000 runs milestone in ODI cricket.

Gayle is just over 143 runs away from becoming the all-time ODI top scorer West Indies batsman, with 10,074 runs to Lara’s 10,405.

Gayle is the 14th batsman to score 10000 ODI runs and will retire from ODI cricket after the ICC World Cup 2019.
