Arsenal have reportedly identified Bayer Leverkusen youngster Kai Havertz as a potential signing, according to Calciomercato.
The 19-year-old midfielder, who came through the youth system at Leverkusen, has notched 11 goals and provided six assists in 28 appearances in all competitions for the Bundesliga club this season.
The report claims that the Gunners have been scouting the German international throughout the campaign and are preparing to launch a bid in the summer transfer window.
If the deal goes through, it could signal the end of Mesut Ozil’s career at the north London, with the veteran midfielder reportedly currently being offered to a number of heavyweight clubs.
Ozil only signed a new contract with Arsenal last year, but his situation at the Emirates is believed to be at ‘breaking point’.
Havertz’s contract with Leverkusen is valid until the summer of 2022.
