Report: Liverpool to make move for Timo Werner from RB Leipzig

The Premier League leaders Liverpool have reportedly expressed an interest in making an audacious move for Timo Werner from RB Leipzig.

The 22-year-old forward hinted after his side’s 1-0 loss to Bayern Munich in midweek that he is considering an end-of-season switch to the Bundesliga champions.

German outlet Abendzeitung claims that Liverpool are also in race to sign the German international, however, with the player being watched up closely by Reds’ scouts on several occasions.

Initial discussions have been held between the Reds and RB Leipzig, who may be forced to cash in next summer as the German attacker will only have a year remaining on his contract.

Werner has scored 10 times in 16 Bundesliga appearances this term, adding to the combined 34 goals over the last two seasons.
