Real Madrid battle Juventus for Liverpool’s Emre Can

Real Madrid have reportedly joined the race to sign Liverpool midfielder Emre Can.

The 24-year-old joined the Merseyside outfit from Bayer Leverkusen in 2014, and has made more than 160 appearances for the Reds in all competitions.

The Germany international will see his contract with the Premier League outfit expire at the end of this season, however, and it is understood that both parties are no closer to coming to an agreement.

The Italian champions Juventus have been strongly linked with a move for the playmaker, but according to La Gazetta dello Sport, Real Madrid have reportedly “explored” the possibility of signing a player that could be available for nothing.

Can has scored six goals and provided five assists in 33 appearances for the Reds this campaign.
