Man United ‘to offer £173m bid for Neymar’

Manchester United are reportedly ready to break their own world-record transfer fee in order to sign Barcelona superstar Neymar this summer, Spanish publication Sport claims.

The Red Devils have been linked with the Brazilian ace for some time now and were given a speculation boost in their pursuit last week when Neymar himself admitted that he wants to play in the English Premier League.

Neymar, 25, is understood to be happy at Camp Nou, but the Spanish champions are worried that he could move to Old Trafford by a world-record offer from the Premier League giants.

The report claims, Jose Mourinho’s side are willing to trigger Neymar’s £173m release clause on top of that offering the forward wages of £416,000-a-week.

The 20-time English champions also broke the transfer record last summer after spending £89m to lure Paul Pogba to Old Trafford.
