Real Madrid’s Luka Modric agrees new 4-year contract

Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric has agreed a new four-year deal, that will keep him at the Bernabeu until June 2020 when he puts pen to paper.

The 31-year-old, who joined Los Blancos from Tottenham Hotspur in 2012, and has since gone on to make 180 appearances and in that time has scored 11 goals.

The Croatian midfielder has also contributed to Madrid’s success having helped the team to two Champions League titles, two UEFA Super Cups, the Copa del Rey, the Spanish Super Cup and the Club World Cup.

A club statement read: “Real Madrid C. F. and Luka Modric have reached an agreement to extend the player’s contract with the club until 30 June 2020.

“Luka Modric will appear before the media on Wednesday at 1:30pm in the press room at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium.”
