CONFIRMED: Mats Hummels will not join Man United

The Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc has confirmed the defender Mats Hummels will remain at the club and will not be sold this summer, according to Goal.

The German international has long been strongly linked with a move to Old Trafford this summer, with van Gaal said to be interested in the 26-year-old’s services.

The report has revealed that BVB are confident of keeping hold of the central defender and will remain at the Westfalenstadion next season following assurances from the club’s sporting director, Zorc.

Zorc told Ruhr Nachrichten, as quoted by Goal: “At 26 years of age, it is normal to be considering your career, to be worrying about your future.

“But let’s stick to the facts: Dortmund and Hummels have a clear consensus that he will be playing for us next season.”

Hummels has scored only two goals in 24 league appearance this season.

The Red Devils have already secured the services of Memphis Depay for a reported £23 million.
