Mark Pettini pens new Essex deal

Essex right-handed batsman Mark Pettini has signed a new one-year contract with the Chelmsford-based outfit, that will keep him at the club until the end of 2015.

The 31-year-old, who made his Essex debut in 2001 – has now committed his one more year to the County Championship side until the summer of 2015.

“Mark is a key one-day player for us, so it was important to sign him up for another season,” Essex coach Paul Grayson told the club’s official website.

“Mark will be an invaluable asset. He is also available for our championship campaign, and his experience will prove useful for some of the younger players.”

Pettini has scored 7,230 first-class runs in 144 matches at an average of 35.09 for Essex. He was club’s second-highest run scorer in the T20 Blast with 424 runs.
