Injured Victoria Azarenka to miss rest of 2014 season

Former world No. 1 Victoria Azarenka has confirmed that she will miss the rest of the WTA season because of the foot injury.

The 25-year-old Belarusian has already missed five months this year, who played just seven tournaments in 2014 after being hampered by foot and knee problems, as a result her ranking has been slipped to No. 25.

The two-time Australian Open champion posted a message on her Facebook page.

Azarenka’s last triumph came in August 2013 when she defeated the American Serena Williams in the final of the Cincinnati Masters.
