Tottenham Hotspur Eye Yoane Wissa in Summer Swoop

Tottenham Hotspur are showing serious interest in Brentford forward Yoane Wissa as they continue to bolster their squad ahead of the new season.

Having already secured Mathys Tel and Mohammed Kudus, Ange Postecoglou’s side isn’t done just yet. Spurs are now looking to add further firepower, with Wissa emerging as a key target to strengthen their attacking options.

Spurs Ready to Capitalise on Wissa’s Contract Situation

According to Football Insider, Tottenham are monitoring the situation of 28-year-old Yoane Wissa, who enjoyed a prolific 2024/25 season—bagging 20 goals and five assists across all competitions.

Crucially, Wissa has just 12 months left on his Brentford contract, putting the Bees in a tricky position. If they don’t sell now, they risk losing him for free next summer.

However, Brentford are reluctant to let him go, especially with Bryan Mbeumo reportedly on the verge of joining Manchester United. Selling both in one window could be a massive blow for Thomas Frank’s side.

Still, Spurs may look to test Brentford’s resolve with a tempting offer. Wissa is currently valued at around £28 million on Transfermarkt, but given his contract status, a cut-price deal could be on the cards.

Why Wissa Would Be a Smart Signing for Spurs

Yoane Wissa has thrived under Thomas Frank and now could reunite with his former boss at Tottenham. The Congolese forward offers blistering pace, intelligent movement, and a keen eye for goal.

He’s far more than a poacher—Wissa can dribble past defenders, stretch defences with his off-the-ball runs, and contribute from wide areas. He provides a more complete skill set compared to Dominic Solanke, whose strengths lie mostly in hold-up play and poaching.

With Wissa’s profile and Premier League experience, he fits perfectly into Postecoglou’s high-tempo attacking style. If Spurs can strike a deal, this could turn out to be one of the most underrated signings of the summer.
