Man Utd and Tottenham Locked in fierce battle for Evan Ndicka

Manchester United are facing stiff competition from Tottenham Hotspur in the race to sign AS Roma’s defensive powerhouse Evan Ndicka, according to Caught Offside.

After Lisandro Martínez’s serious knee injury last season, United’s left centre-back position has been unsettled. Young prospect Ayden Heaven showed promise but lacks experience, while Luke Shaw’s ongoing injury woes mean he can’t be a reliable option. With veterans Victor Lindelof and Jonny Evans set to leave on free transfers this summer, the Red Devils urgently need a dependable, experienced defender.

Tottenham manager Ruben Amorim, operating in a 3-4-2-1 system, is also eager to strengthen his backline and has singled out Ndicka as a prime target after his impressive performances for Roma last season.

Ndicka featured in 38 Serie A matches, registering one assist and helping Roma keep 16 clean sheets, playing a crucial role in securing Europa League qualification. Standing tall at 6ft 3in, the Ivory Coast international combines pace, strength, aerial dominance, and composure on the ball—traits that make him an ideal fit for the Premier League.

Despite having three years left on his contract, Roma may consider selling Ndicka for around £34 million. But United won’t have it easy, as Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest have also expressed interest, making this one of the summer’s hottest defensive battles.

At 25, Ndicka is entering his prime, and landing him would be a major coup for either club looking to solidify their defence ahead of next season. The Premier League showdown for Ndicka’s signature is set to be one of the most intriguing stories of the transfer window.
