Arsenal hopeful of securing Myles Lewis-Skelly’s services

Arsenal are growing increasingly confident of securing a new deal for teenage sensation Myles Lewis-Skelly, despite growing interest from European giants Real Madrid.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, talks are progressing positively between Arsenal and Lewis-Skelly’s representatives. The 18-year-old, who broke into the first-team picture last season, is viewed as a vital piece of the club’s long-term puzzle.

Hale End Star Drawing Global Attention

Lewis-Skelly’s rise from the Hale End academy to the senior side has been nothing short of remarkable. Originally a central midfielder, he seamlessly slotted in at left-back for much of the season due to injuries to key players like Riccardo Calafiori. His performances didn’t go unnoticed — not just by fans and pundits, but also by European scouts.

Real Madrid are reportedly circling, eyeing a potential free transfer in 2026. They’ve also been linked with Arsenal stars William Saliba and Bukayo Saka, continuing their strategy of targeting top young talent nearing contract expiry.

Arsenal Set to Secure Their Future Stars

Despite Madrid’s looming interest, Arsenal believe Lewis-Skelly’s deep roots at the club — both emotionally and geographically — will play a major role in his decision to stay. The Gunners are also working on deals for Ethan Nwaneri and other academy graduates, while key players like Saliba, Saka, and Gabriel Magalhaes are either signed or close to agreeing fresh terms.

For Arsenal, retaining Lewis-Skelly is about more than one player — it’s about building a core for the next generation.
