Tottenham and Newcastle Eye AC Milan Midfielder Yunus Musah
Premier League clubs Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United are reportedly circling AC Milan midfielder Yunus Musah, with the American international likely heading for the San Siro exit this summer.
Musah’s Milan Move Failing to Take Off
After impressing at Valencia, Musah made a high-profile move to AC Milan in the summer of 2023. But despite the hype, his stint in Italy has been underwhelming. The 22-year-old has made 76 appearances over two seasons but is yet to register a goal. Recent performances have been met with heavy criticism, and his confidence seems to be fading.
In Milan’s recent clash with Fiorentina, Musah was subbed off just 23 minutes in after a costly error. It wasn’t the first time either—he was hauled off in the first half against Lazio as well, both times drawing boos from the San Siro faithful. While he remains a promising athlete, his impact in midfield has been minimal under Sergio Conceição.
Spurs and Magpies See Opportunity in Musah
With his time at Milan seemingly coming to an end, Tottenham and Newcastle are keen to offer Musah a Premier League lifeline. Spurs are looking to add depth and youth to their midfield under Ange Postecoglou, and Musah ticks both boxes.
Meanwhile, Eddie Howe sees the American as a versatile option to boost Newcastle’s midfield ranks as the club continues its rise. Milan are open to selling, and a return to England might just be what Musah needs to rediscover his spark.
