Christopher Nkunku to move on in January

Christopher Nkunku’s time at Chelsea could come to an abrupt end as the French attacker reportedly seeks an exit when the January transfer window opens. Having struggled for consistent starts in the Premier League under Enzo Maresca, Nkunku is said to be frustrated with his peripheral role and is eager for a fresh challenge.

The 27-year-old’s representatives are already in discussions with interested Premier League clubs, while Paris Saint-Germain, his former team, have also been notified of his availability. A product of PSG’s youth system, Nkunku is reportedly open to a reunion with the Ligue 1 champions.

PSG might view Nkunku as an ideal replacement for Randal Kolo Muani, who has fallen out of favour with manager Luis Enrique and has been excluded from recent squads. With Kolo Muani’s departure looking increasingly likely in January, Nkunku’s return could provide the Parisian side with a versatile attacking option.

Chelsea fans will undoubtedly be disappointed if Nkunku leaves after such a short spell, but the lack of Premier League opportunities seems to have made his decision inevitable. The coming weeks will determine whether PSG or another club secures his services.
